DENIS GASTON MARQUE - PART 3

(Life becomes a bit more serious)

White Sands Missle Range 1954-1956

This was the EML (Electro-Mechanical Laboratory) Building
where I worked for 2 years while attending New Mexico State University.

Arizona Air National Guard 1958-1962

I was working for Motorola in 1961 when the President said
"We need you in Germany for the Berlin Crisis".
Our unit responded with our F-104 Starfighter squadron.

The "Arizona Republic" bid us adieu as we moved to Germany.

Our unit patch changed to reflect our new location, including the Iron Cross

The Starfighter and our quonset hut on the flightline at Ramstein Air Base, Germany

I was crew chief of the Crash Truck on the left when we were activated.
I'm at the center with 2 lineman and a Rescueman.

These were the early days of the Marlboro Man

After 8 months in Germany as an Armament Specialist,
and subsequent discharge from the Air Force,
I returned to Motorola in August 1962 and stayed until 1991.
